Snow Storm 2

 

I so hopped we were done with the snow, but alas we aren’t.  Since February 13th we have only gone to school four days.  This latest storm dumped over a foot of snow.  I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen this much snow.

We dressed warm and headed out about 9:00 for all things snow fun.  The kids are standing behind a snow drift.  It was so big.  They had fun jumping in it later. 

Jumping off the side of the side of the driveway into the snow was fun until Addyson realized she was stuck.  It was too deep for her to get out on her own.  We had to dig her out.  

It took a little convincing to get Grant to play with us.  This is the extent of his playing.  He did let the kids bury him in the snow. 

Last snow day in February

We had one last snow day last Wednesday.  My road was clear and so we headed to Abby’s house for a day of fun.  We lucked out that it was also a day when she was keeping Adalee. 

We had a ton of fun.  All three kids can fit in my Dad’s chair and I was able to tickle them.  I love hearing them laugh. 

Around lunch time we went to the farm and picked up Kaleb and went to eat pizza.  After pizza we headed back to the farm to see the new combine.  Addyson made herself right at home. 

Hayden loves all things farm related so he enjoyed climbing up in all the equipment. 

Snow Day 1

We received 10 inches of snow today.  We were able to keep the kids inside all morning but after lunch we headed outside.  Grant remained focused on getting his car out so he could be able to work tomorrow. 

We had to always be on lookout because we never knew when we would be slammed with a shovel of snow. 

The kids had a blast.  Not really sure what Addyson was doing here but I’m pretty sure she was planning on getting the snow off Hayden’s hat. 

Hayden’s 8th Birthday

We celebrated Hayden’s birthday at the local bowling alley this year with about eight of his closest friends. 

I forget how wild boys can be when there really isn’t any structure.  It made glad they weren’t all spending the night. 

Little sisters got to bowl as well.  

Addyson was a little shy at first and wanted help.  Before long she was bowling just like the boys.  I was so proud they treated her like an equal and not a pesky little sister. 

Hayden seemed to have a blast hanging out with his friends.  His friends screamed Happy Birthday before he blew out the candles.

Here are some cute pictures from different times.  Below Hayden and Addyson are catching up on their reading while I get my oil changed.  They really seem interested in what they are reading. 

The kids have had their share of sickness this winter.  We have had the flu, strep throat, and no two rounds of the stomach bug.  We can’t wait for winter. 

One of the perks of my job is getting to dress up for different occasions.  Here my teaching partner Jana and I were dressed up for the 100th day of school. 

Mom surprised us one day at school.  We got to visit with her after school and she was able to see the school perform the Christmas musical before anyone else.

This is one of Addyson’s recent tricks.  She will get her jacket on while it is still hanging on the wall. 

While making cookies Hayden was mad because he didn’t an apron.  He made his own out of a Wal-Mart sack.
