Kittens, Kites, & More

We have had an amazing Saturday. We left the house this morning to go pick up our landscaping plans. Boy, do we have a lot of work ahead of us. I really like the plans. Hopefully during spring break we will have nice weather to work. After picking up the plans we headed up to Dede and Poppy's house.
Hayden had his picture taken on the same tree as Layken.

We also played with the newborn kittens. Hayden loved them and is giving them a kiss here.

It has been a very windy day so Poppy brought out a kite.

Hayden was amazed as he watched it flying.

It did end up in a tree for awhile, unfortunately.

We spent some time on the swing set. Hayden would not hang on to the bar.

But he did not have any trouble with the swing.

Hayden has graduated to a bigger slid this year. He climbed up the steps all by himself.

He had just a little bit of trouble with the landing. He loved every minute of it.

Grant is chasing Hayden down the road. He still loves to be chased.

Grant found Hayden a four leaf clover. Hayden is showing it off to everyone.

What's for supper?

Do you know what you are going to cook for supper? I never know, and usually when I go to my pantry I think I have nothing to fix even though it is full. I recently found out about this website. http://allrecipes.com/ One of the cool things that it does is, allow you to type in some ingredients that you have on hand and it will find a recipe that you can make. This is really coming in handy now that we bought half of cow and have an abundance of beef on hand.
We have had a wonderful week. Mainly because in another week at this time I will be on spring break. We don't have big plans, landscaping our lawn, visiting my parents (I haven't been there since Christmas), and Easter. I can't wait.

The many moods of a 2 year old

I captured this picture of Hayden before heading off to school this morning. I am pretty sure he didn't want his picture taken. For a long time Hayden would only answer yes when we ask him a question. He is now letting us know loud and clear when he doesn't want to do something.

This is after we got home this afternoon. He still doesn't look convinced that he wants his picture taken. He is in a cute outfit from an amazing lady at work. It is a t-shirt supporting our local high school.

I finally convinced him to smile for a picture when I was standing on the couch above him. Man is he making me work for the smiles.
On a side note, Hayden has had a great day health wise. He has eaten three meals and kept all three in!!!! Isn't it amazing the little things we can celebrate.

We are getting better

This is a picture of Hayden when he was sick. He sat in his chair just dreaming into space.

Yesterday, Hayden was starting to feel better. He wanted to take care of his frog. Here he is changing his diaper.

And if you look closely at Hayden's hands you will see his lotion. When I put lotion on Hayden I always put a little on his hand to put on his face. He was wanting to put a little on the frog's hand.

Thank you Grammy and GG for the beautiful flowers...

and balloons. They really cheered us up.

Hayden is over the worst of this virus. He did wake up this morning with fever and diarrhea again but I can tell the worst is past us.

Sick Sick Boy

Hayden was diagnosed with the rotavirus this afternoon. This all started Wednesday morning. I had to go pick him up from day care because he was vomiting. When I got him home he slept for a good long time and then the diarrhea and fever started.
When I talked to the nurse this morning she was concerned with him becoming dehydrated so she wanted me to bring him in. When we arrived he still had a temperature of 102 and even had a dirty diaper. This turned out lucky because they could use the diaper to test for rotavirus. We didn't even make it home before the Dr. called and confirmed the diagnosis.
I didn't know much about this virus before today. I didn't realize how contagious it is and how important it will be to keep Hayden hydrated for the next several days. The doctor is going to call in the morning to check to see if he is urinating. If he hasn't then she is likely to put him in the hospital. I don't want that. I just can't bring myself to take of a picture of him like this, he just looks so pathetic.

I have made jello, bought popsicles, and have pedialyte. What are some other things that I can do for the boy while he is not eating? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Spring afternoon

Here is a few cute pictures of this beautiful spring day. Hayden had his first experience with baseball. He loved hitting the ball and the tee. After he hit the ball he then would proceed to hit the tee until it fell to the ground.

Please don't forget that by this weekend I will be going private. If you want an invite then let me know

Thinking....

I am thinking of making this blog private. Grant and I have been talking about protecting Hayden as much as we can, and this would really help. I am still learning how to do this, so it will proably be next weekend before I can get it done. If you would like to be invited to continue to read, please leave me a comment and I will make sure you get an invitation.

Friday night Fun

Hayden is so happy because he had some great friends over last night to play. The kids played so great together while the adults rocked out on Guitar Hero.

Ready for Bed

Hayden runs to his chair most night so that he can pick out the first book. I was just lucky enough tonight to have my camera close by to capture the look on his face when he is trying to see where I am.

Hilarious Picture

After Church this afternoon we met my parent half way for lunch. My dad is such a nut around Hayden. I don't think I have seen him cheese so big for a picture before. We really enjoyed getting to spend some time with them.

Can you guess what this picture is?

It is actually my laptop screen. I was taking a picture of how long it was taking me to upload pictures but instead it took a picture of Hayden fingerprints on my screen. Needless to said I have recently cleaned it.

Hayden loves this tiger. We have had him for awhile but he has recently discovered how fun it is to jump with him.

The only problem is he is scared to push the button on his hand. I have got him to the point where if I put my hand down there he will push it. I
know he is at the age where he is developing fears but I am not sure what brought this one on.
