Hayden’s Christmas

Hayden has started questioning Santa already but when it came down to it he wanted to feed the reindeer and leave cookies and milk for Santa more than anybody. 

Hayden asked for Lego Star Wars and was lucky enough to receive some .  He also was given the Infinity xbox 360 game.  I think Grant was just as excited as Hayden about all of this gifts. 

Hayden has an obsession with the game sorry so Santa gave him a different version, Sorry sliders. 

The boys worked together this morning to put together the legos 

Then they headed up to the bonus room to play video games for the rest of the day.   

Hayden received a pair of headphone as well and really has enjoyed them.  Now I don’t have to listen to the angry bird song a million times a day.  

Addyson’s Christmas

Santa visited our house a day before he normally does.  Because we have such a busy Christmas day we thought it would be best for our family to celebrate one day before.  As you can tell the kids didn’t disagree! This is right before bed time. 

About an hour after bedtime Grant was anxious for Santa to come so he could go to bed himself.  He went to complete task and talked me in to it as well.  Needless to say the kids were not asleep and Addyson came out of her room as I was looking under the tree.  I was devastated to think I had ruined this for her.  This morning she was only upset because we didn’t wake her up to meet Santa. 

It was a cooking Christmas for this pretty girl.  She received an easy bake oven and all the appropriate accessories needed.  We have cooked up a storm today!

I even made her do the dishes! 

Each kids also received a pair of earphones.  Though this gift may be more for Momma than the kids.  

Tapp Christmas

Saturday we drove to Kelby’s house to celebrate Christmas with my side of the family.  We were a little concerned about the drive because of expected rain storms but it wasn’t to bad at all. 

The one toy that was the biggest hit was one that Hadley already owned.  All the kids really enjoyed riding on the horse.  It was cute seeing them forming their own line to take turns. 

After a feast of good food we gave in to the kids and opened presents. 

I really enjoyed watching Hadley and Addyson play together.  They are only about a month apart and seem to really enjoy playing together. 

Hayden got this Darth Vader helmet.  It changes his voice to made him sound just like him. 

Christmas Performances 2013

 

Thursday morning Hayden has his Christmas program at school.  The musical was about the students being snowed in at school during the Christmas holiday.The first grade sang a song to Santa asking him to be true. 

Hayden is all business when he sings!

Friday afternoon Hayden and I headed to Addyson’s Christmas party.  The students sang two songs; The 12 days of Christmas and Jingle Bells. 

When we got there Addyson was all smiles.  She seemed very excited.  But all of the sudden her mood changed.  She looked upset and about to cry.  They began to sing and this is what she looked like. 

Luckily for me Hayden was up to the challenge of making her smile.  It turned out for the best.  He had her laughing and singing in no time!  We ate cookies and milk after they sang! 

Sleet Storm

 

Thursday night’s storm has given us much needed family time.  Grant went to work on Friday but even the bank closed early.  Saturday we did head out to Wal-Mart and even to the movies.  Parking lots and side roads were a mess but the main roads were descent.  With the extra ice we received Saturday night we stayed in today and don’t have school tomorrow.  They have worked hard on our road this afternoon and I think I will venture out. 

This afternoon Hayden, Addyson, and I bundled up and headed outside for some fun.  I got a little creative since we didn’t have a sled and choose a tupperware lid to make due.  It worked like a charm.  As you can see Addyson LOVED it!  She went down every way possible. 

Hayden liked it as well but his interests lied in more of throwing ice on everyone. 

I even tried going down but it wasn’t that good of a sled. 

 

Icy Day

Today was a snow day for the kids and I.  Grant even only had to work a half day because of the winter storm we had.  Luckily, we had our gas logs fixed this week.  We were ready to cuddle up in front of the fire. 

Since we mainly got ice and sleet we didn’t venture outside to play yet. 

Instead we blew up the blow up bed and the kids had a lot of fun. 

They even kicked up their feet for a little bit and watched a movie. 

Grant even got into coloring.  This kept the kids pretty busy this afternoon.  We have had a wonderful day but this momma is ready to get out of the house tomorrow for just a bit.  

Thanksgiving 2013

Last week we had a wonderful Thanksgiving break!  Although Addyson was running a fever we traveled to Sebree for Thanksgiving dinner. 

I curled Addyson’s hair.  She said it would make her feel better.   She was a little disappointed when they all fell out later that day. 

She really did enjoy the parade on television.  She wanted to be one of the rockets.  Hayden was pretty excited about all the balloons. 

It has become a little tradition for Mom and Addyson to get their picture taken on Thanksgiving. 

In true Tapp style we played several silly games.  The first game was to get a stuffed monkey through  the hoop.  Kids had to do it first and then the adults.  The second game was to get a ping pong ball into the basket.  Now that I’m looking at this picture I realize that the ball in the basket was not a ping pong ball.  Poogie was a really good sport!

Addyson was also excited about seeing Aunt Jo.

Poogie was excited about showing Addsyon “something soft.”   She was pretty excited when he brought in the bunny.  I was to until I realized he wanted us to take it home.  After some tears we agreed that we could come and visit any time we want.  I lost interest pretty soon after they started pooping on the couch beside me. 

On Saturday, we rang the bells at Big Lots for an hour.  This was right up Addyson’s alley.  She loved singing and telling everyone Merry Christmas.  Hayden even stepped out of his comfort zone and started getting in the spirit of it.  Grant and I want to teach the kids that the Christmas season is about a lot more than presents and more about Jesus and giving to others.
