Pictures from the past couple of weeks

When we got back from church camp we went straight home and took showers and then headed out to Crossland to celebrate Father’s Day.  Our first stop was to Granny Orr’s.  We were so excited to see Jace, Aunt Jane, and Uncle Jerry there as well.  Addyson took this lovely picture for us.

After Granny’s we went to Dede and Poppy’s house.  Notice the frog on Hayden’s hand.  I thought it was cool he was holding it like that.

We had a wonderful time visiting with family.  As you can see Lilly loved the chocolate cake!  Addyson was stung by a bee for the first time.  With her allergies to other bug bites I wasn’t sure how she would react to a bee sting.   Her foot did swell and stay swollen for three days but other than that she did great! She has learned at least for awhile to wear shoes while walking the the grass.

Hayden has taken to making his own lunch if he doesn’t like what I am fixing.  I need to teach him a few other things to make so he can continue to be independent and even help Addyson fix hers.

Addyson was able to ride her bike for a little bit with him on the back.  Addyson has almost mastered riding her bike without training wheels she is just having a hard time steering around the curves in our driveway.  She can ride straight for a long time.

Grant’s been off work this week and here are a few of our days in pictures.

Today we went golfing in Murray.  We just played nine holes and with the heat it was a good thing.  The kids had a blast golfing and driving the golf cart.  They do have a long way to go before they turn 16 though.

We have also played with sidewalk chalk and went swimming.  One night Grant went to throw Hayden in the pool and hayden wouldn’t let go and he lost his balance.  Grant’s only choice was to fall into the pool as well.  Unfortunately, Grant was fully dressed and had his phone on him.  His phone did not survive the swim. Sad smile  A costly little swim that was.

We also got to babysit Lilly one day this week.  Addyson was all about it and read Lilly some books.  For the most part Lilly listened.  Both kids were great helpers and had fun while she was there.

West Kentucky Youth Camp–Peewee Weekend

Father’s Day weekend we went to WKYC for PeeWee Weekend.  The purpose of this weekend is to introduce young kids to camp and get them prepared for when they come on their own.

This truly was a test for Hayden since I am taking him and Addyson back later in July for a whole week.  It isn’t going to be different for Addyson because I will be in her cabin but Hayden is going to have to take care of everything he needs by himself.  Grant taught him where to put his stuff while he was in the shower and things like that.  He did great!!!

One of the kids favorite parts of camp was Canteen.  They had this two or three time a day when the kids can get a slushy/soda and a snack.  They thought it was very cool to have so much soda in one day.

I was able to get more pictures of Addyson since I was with her more. Hayden truly ran around with the boys in his cabin and didn’t care that mom was there. Smile

One of Addyson’s favorite friends that she had at camp was Piper.  They played so well together and luckily will be together when we go back in July.

St. Louis Game/ Grant’s Farm

I noticed while cleaning out pictures on my iphone that I never posted pictures from our quick trip to St. Louis at the beginning of summer vacation.  We literally left the minute we were out of school and headed to the game.

We had the bank’s seats so we were very close to the third base line.  You can tell Addyson was impressed with the seats. Ha! Ha!  The game itself was terrible and most people left very early.  The good part to this was their wasn’t much traffic when we left.

The next morning we went to Gran’ts farm after breakfast a Cracker Barrel.  The kids eat so well there.  Hayden had two sunny side up eggs with several pieces of bacon.  Addyson had three eggs and several pieces of bacon as well.

We really enjoyed our trip here.  It was hard for Addyson to understand that it wasn’t Daddy’s farm.
Addyson wanted to feed the animals but we didn’t have change to get the food out of the machine.  So she decided she would be smart about it and pull some grass and they walked right up to her and ate it.

Hayden’s big thrill was the snow cones.  He wanted one so band and since it was so hot we obliged.

Happy 5th Birthday Addyson

On Saturday we had Addyson’s birthday party.  She was so excited to celebrate with her family.

Grant helped decorate by blowing up balloons.  Addyson wanted to be apart of it all.

Luckily Abby came early to visit because of the crazy storm that came through an hour after the party started.  Everyone left so that they could get home before the dangerous storm came through.  Because of the storm I wasn’t able to get pictures of everyone that came.  IMG_0013

The girls had a good time feeding puffs to Lilly.

Addyson’s sweet friend Lindsey came to celebrate with us!  She is precious.

Addyson’s favorite gift was a kitten.  She has named her Elsa from the movie Frozen.

After opening presents we had cake and ice cream.  Addyson was a little eager to blow out the candles. I had to hold her off until we got done singing Happy Birthday.

Dance Recital

A couple of weeks ago Addyson had her first dance recital.  She was so beautiful and seemed to have a blast!

It was a totally new experience for me.  The dress rehearsal on Sunday was crazy and then getting ready for the show was crazy as well.  Seeing so many little girls having to get ready for a show was fun to watch.

Addyson and two great friends that she took dance with this year.  Olivia and Lindsey.  It was nice to have two moms to talk to as well every week at class.

Preschool Graduation

I am playing catch up this morning.  Last month we celebrated Addyson’s preschool graduation.

She has been going to KY Kids preschool since she was two.  She has learned so much while she has been there.  pre K graduation soccer 009pre K graduation soccer 014

Addyson has had some great teachers.  Mrs. Wendy, Ms. Jenny, and Ms. Megan.  I don’t have a picture with Ms. Megan but she loved them all and would never say who her favorite is.

This is one of Addyson’s best buddies Libby.  They will miss each other when they start Kindergarten.
