Impromptu Photo Session

We were outside Monday night as the sun was setting.  The kids were enjoying playing outside without the heat.  I went and grabbed my camera to capture their fun but ended up the activity was avoiding having your picture taken.  I did get some good ones despite them.

We have really been enjoying the pool!  They wake up from nap wanting to swim!

Hayden loves jumping off Grant and off the side of the pool!  Addyson is the complete opposite.  She doesn’t even want to go under.

Arts and Crafts

Last week I took the kids to Michaels to pick out some things we could do while we are home for the summer.  The kids loved the store and we eneded up spending qutie of bit of time there.  They each got to pick out one activity they wanted to do.

The one activity I influences was dot painting.  Both kids loved this.  This type of painting is not as messy and they can create anything.  I got a book to accompany the paints and they loved it!

We have also played with playdough a lot lately.  I hope this will improve their fine motor skills. They both wanted sissors ad did very well with them.
This is Hayden's snowman.  He said it was too hot outside so he wanted to make something cold.
We did a Father's Day activity yesterday.  We finger painted a picture for Grant.  Afterwards I let them paint anything they wanted.  I was surprised that they weren't as interested in this.
Hayden studied his colors carefully planning out his picture.  He wanted baby wipes so he wouldn't mix the colors.  Addyson wasn't as worried about that.

Addyson's Birthday

Addyson had a wonderful birthday party last Saturday.  We had family come over for cake and ice cream.  Addsyon was so excited about her party she had trouble taking a nap.
 Addyson loves Dora!

She was excited about everyone singing to her but somewhere in the middle of the song she decided she didn't like the attention after all.

She did this last year as well.  She froze and wouldn't blow out the candle.  Hopefully I will remember next year and we will practice before hand.  She is looking at Grant.  I can only imagine what is going through her head.
Adalee was loving the birthday party.  She is getting so big!  She seems very outgoing and loved to entertain everyone.

Addyson was her happy self again when she got to open some presents.  She has played with them all.  She loves her new bike but gets frustrated becasue she keeps pushing on the brakes.
She also have put puzzles together all week.  He lips have rarely been without lip gloss as well.  Grant says we may have to have a lip gloss intervention before she turns four.  :)

After cake and presents we headed outside to swim.  Addsyon is sporting her new glassess.

Delightful Dirt

The kids, especially Hayden, has enjoyed the dirt that has gone along with all the pool construction in the back yard.  I don't usually let Hayden play in the dirt until after nap or he would have to take several showers during the day.

Sidewolk Chalk Fun!

Last Thursday it was suppose to rain, so I thought it would be a great time for the kids to play with some chalk outside and then the rain would wash it off later that day.

Hayden worked hard at writing and dawing some of his favorite people's names.  He has come such a long way with his writing.  He is asking to write words now.

Addyson is just as cute as ever.  She was conserned about the organization of the chalk in the bucket.  She did draw a rainbow and a picture of her family!

Hayden was so proud and wanted to show his Dad how well he could write his name.  The wonderful thing is he can sound these words out without help and spell them.  I think he is ready for Kindergarten in a few weeks.  I just don't know if I'm ready for him to go to school.

Swimming Pool

On the 29th of May, our backyard looked like this:

When I came home on the 30th, I found a big hole in our back yard. :)  It has taken considerable longer than I imagined and they told me it would to complete but not that it is done I don't mind.

Hayden has enjoyed watching all the equipment come and go.  Both kids have enjoyed the dirt more than anytihng else.  My next post will be dedicated to the kids and dirt.

As I sit here at my computer and look out my kitchen window, I can't believe it is done!!  I love it and now am waiting to the weather to get just a little bit warmer and then I will be jumping...no floating along. ;)
