Hayden's Preschool Graduation

On Friday May 11th, Hayden graduated from preschool.  At the beginning of the school year we never imagined that he would graduate from KY Kids but in the end it worked out best for Hayden.  Addyson and all the other kids at the school were able to participate in the program as well.
This was the first program this year that Addsyon fully participated in.  Up until now she would either stand there with a frown on her face or cry and come sit with me.  This was such a victory that she participated.
The graduates walked in proudly!
Hayden just realized where we were sitting and who was there to watch him graduate.  Dede, Abby, Aunt Heather, and Adalee all came to him on his big day.

They performed several songs before they handed out awards and diplomas.  Hayden received the Most Dependable award, while Addyson was named Most Outdoorsie.

Captain Kitty

We recently added a new member of the family.  Addyson was in love at first sight.  When Grant got home that day he rang the door bell and ran.  He left the cat carrier at the door.  The kids opened the door to find a baby cat on the door step.
Hayden named the cat Captain Kitty.  The kids were and still are enamored with her.  They carry Captain around all the time.  I can't believe the cat allows them to do it.

Just a random picture of me dressed up a couple of weeks ago for a spirit day at school.  Grant had fun dressing me up.

Easter 2012

Easter was the Sunday we came back from Virginia.  The day before we went to the church for a Easter Egg Hunt.  Addyson had a little bit of an advantage this year.  Her category was 0-2years old.  Since she is almost three she was one of the quickest kids in her age group.  I didn't get to watch Hayden hunt eggs because Grant was with him.
Sunday morning the kids woke up to eggs everywhere and an Easter Egg basket filled with some goodies.  After hunting eggs we had a wonderful breakfast and then go ready for church.
The kids learned quickly that I wanted to take pictures of them in their new clothes.  Some people were more willing than others. :)
Once I let them act a little silly they were more willing to participate.

These kids love each other!  They play so well together and enjoy aggravating each other just like any brother and sister.

Spring Break in Virginia

The first week of April was my Spring Break.  I took the kid to Virginia with my Mom, sister in law Heather, and niece Adalee.  The kids survived the long drive and couldn't wait to see all the Aunts and Grandpa.
The first day we were there we took a picnic to Mt. Trashmore and played.  We climbed the big hill to fly a kit with the kids.  We even rolled down the hill on our bellies.
The next day we went to the zoo.  We went with Carson and his family.  Hayden and Carson had a blast together.  Addyson of course just wanted to be one of the guys.
Throughout the week we stayed in a hotel.  Aunt Heather and Adalee like to sleep in but not my kiddos.  So we watched movies while we waited for them to wake up.  The kids loved watching the movie Hop since it was around Eater.
One of the most fun things we did while we were in Virginia was go to Bush Gardens.  The kids had a blast. I believe this was the first time Adalee had ridden these type of rides. You can tell she really enjoyed them.
Apparently, on this ride the girls weren't strapped in tight enough for Addyson.  She felt like she had to hold on to Adalee.  We had to make sure she let her go.  It looks like she is chocking her.
The kids were really excited about the swings....That is until they watched the big kid ride of the swings and they didn't want to ride their version any more.  You can tell by the looks on their face that they would much rather be riding the other swings.
Only on a few of the kiddie rides were we allowed to ride.  Aunt Heather got the pleasure of riding this one with my kids while Adalee took a quick nap.  But she woke up in time to ride the lady bugs.
We had a wonderful time visiting family and taking the kids around to see wonderful things.  It was a great trip!!

Catching up...Starting with Today

I have been away from the blog for quite some time for various reasons.  The main reason is that we have moved and I have not been about to connect my laptop with the internet.  Besides that we have been crazy busy.  I will back track later and catch up with what I missed but I will start with today.

This morning we went to get doughnuts because sweet Addyson woke up dry this morning.  She know that we do something special every time she does it because it is not very often.  We then took them to the old house to try and finish up this moving.  I feel like we have been doing it for a month.  And really we are getting close to that.

We are even a week late celebrating Mother's Day.  Grant's family came over tonight and we had dinner and went fishing.  We keep seeing a humongous fish but no one can catch it.  I won the prize with the only fish of the night.

Allison ended the night by catching a snappy turtle!
Grant really wanted to catch a fish, but he didn't have as much luck as the ladies did tonight.
