Past couple of Days

Yesterday I took cupcakes to Hayden's class at school to celebrate his birthday. He really enjoyed it. At one point during snack time he called me over hugged me and said, "This is the best birthday ever." I just melted. It was worth all the time on Wednesday night to bake those darn things. :)


We finally found some one to hook up the gas line to our fire place. Grant and I were so excited. About after five minutes of having a fire going the smoke detectors went off. The are all wired together so we could not escape the awful noise. Everytime we turned it one that day the smoke detectors would go off. Finally we read on the internet that we would have to let the fire run for a couple of hours and then there was a chance that the smoke detectors would not go off. So last night we took all the batteries out, turned off the breaker for them and let the fire burn. I sat down by the fire where I could see it snow and read a book. Very relaxing. :)

I took the kids out this morning to play in the snow. The first thing Hayden did was lay down and make a snow angel.

I had a hard time getting a good picture of Addyson. She did enjoy the snow but was focused on what she was doing.

Hayden was determined to hit me with a snow ball. I was determined to keep the snow away from my camera.

Tomorrow we are having Hayden's birthday party. I can't wait.

Day with Abby & New Year's Eve

Last night we celebrated New Year's Eve as a family.


We piled all our blankets in the floor and layed down to watch movies. Grant had every intention of all of us sleeping together on the floor, but I had other plans. :) Addyson of course wouldn't sit still so around nine I finally put her in her bed and she was asleep very quickly. Hayden made it through two movies and was ready for more, but wanted Daddy to stop snoring. So we read Hayden a book and put him in his own bed. I was so glad that both kids were going to sleep in their own bed...and I would be in my own bed.

Earlier this week we took a day trip to see Abby. Hayden loved playing with his train set.

Addyson loved playing on the bus. It is the perfect size for her to climb on and slide.

Grant and I made a trip to Nashville this week to see the Zack Brown Band. It was a great show and we enjoyed a night off. The kids spent the night with Aunt Allison. They seemed to have had a blast.
