Addyson's Room

Addyson's room is almost done. I would say that we have been working on it for a long time but that would be a lie. In fact her room has come together rather quickly. I do not have anything hanging on the walls yet because we still have to put the border around the middle of the room, but I know the first picture I will hang will be the one below.

This was a gift from Dede. Isn't it beautiful!

I love the walls being two different colors. I know brown and pink are really popular together right now, but I love them. The border for the room was shipped today. I can't wait to put it up.

Everthing in the rocking chair is ready to be backed and taken to Korea. I am trying to pack light but that is hard to do. I don't want to forget anything.

We are still just waiting for our travel call. I am not sure if the holidays have slowed down our case or not but I am ready to go at anytime. :)

Christmas in a nutshell

I took too many pictures over Christmas to post them all here, so once again I made collages. Just click on the collage to make it bigger. If you see a picture you want please let me know and I can email it to you.

We started Christmas at our house but we were all in our PJ so I am not posting any pictures. We did have a lot of fun and Hayden was glad tat Santa came to see him.

Around 8:00 we left our house. We headed to Granny Orr's for our traditional Christmas breakfast of scrambled eggs, country ham, and biscuits. Yum!! After filling our bellies we opened presents and played dirty Santa. We all had a lot of fun.

Around 1:00 we headed to Sebree for my side of the family's Christmas. We had a wonderful time opening presents. Hayden received lots of tractors and farm equipment. We enjoyed a wonderful turkey dinner and lots of laughs. We even played a couple of rounds of Hungry Hungry Hippo. I forgot how loud that game was.

Saturday morning Grant, Hayden, and I headed to Walmart. Not to return any gifts but to pick up the ingredients for homemade pizza. Thanks to Aunt Kirha's expert dough making skills Grant and I make nine pizzas for the family that night.

They also surprised us with a baby shower. It was nice opening lots of dresses and girly clothes. I love and appreciate my family.
Grant and I both have the week off. Today we have finished (except for a border and curtains) Addyson's room. I will try to post pictures tomorrow. We are getting really excited about bringing her home knowing that it could happen really soon.

Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas Eve!!!!!

We have had a very busy and productive day.

We started today by painting Addyson's room. All that it needs now is the chair rail and some paint touch ups.

After a short break Hayden helped me make some pepperoni pinwheels that were for supper.

He was also excited about helping me decorate butter cookies.

Grant was even a big help. (I was not allowed to take a picture of anything but his hands :))

Hayden couldn't quite get the hang of decorating the cookies.

He dumped all the balls on one cookie before I could grab the decorations from him. We will just try again next year.

Orr Family Christmas 09

We had a blast last night at the Orr family christmas!!! I had so many pictures, that to make it easier for me, I made two collages. This first collage is some of the highlights of the night. Hayden and Laken are so cute together. Hayden just adores her.

Hayden's big present of the night was a John Deer tractor (his lawn mower). He is in love with it. We couldn't let him play with it today because it was so cold outside.

You can click on the collage and make it bigger if you want to see the pictures closer.
I am looking forward to this week's activities. I am headed to Sebree tomorrow for a quick and quiet visit with Mom and Dad. I will come back Tuesday to make some Christmas goodies with Hayden. We are going to attempt a gingerbread house. We may have to wait for Grant's help before I try to build it.
In adoptioin news, we received our approval for Addyson's visa. This is the last step in the US. The only thing left before we travel is attaining her passport in Korea. I think we will be traveling to pick her up in two to three weeks. :) We have a lot of work to do before then. :)

Big Big Day

Don't you just love this picture!!!

I usually put my pictures in the order that they happen but this picture is just so stinking cute. Hayden was hiding in the box and Grant jumped up and scared him when he came out.

This is what my classroom looked like today. Crazy!!! I always love the last day of school before Christmas Break (and not just for the presents). The kids all seem just a little bit kinder today. we had lots of crafts and projects for them to work on. I appreciate all the parents that came to help me.

Right after school I headed to Mrs. Cindy's for Hayden's Christmas party. Ms. Cindy picked out the best present for Hayden. This helicopter lights up, makes noises, and is just plain cook. Hayden hasn't put it down all night.

This is a cute picture of Jack and Hayden looking at what the girls were given.

This is Hayden before bed. He was so tired. :)

Tomorrow we are going to celebrate Christmas with the Orr's. Sunday we are suppose to head to Nashville to watch the Tennessee Titans play the Miami Dolphins with Dad. But Dad hasn't had a good week and is still feeling pretty poor. I just hope he is pain free.

Great Weekend and Adoption Update!!

This weekend Hayden and I went to Sebree to visit Grammy and GG. Saturday morning I wrapped presents while Hayden and Grammy hung tinsel on the tree. Grammy put tinsel all over the tree. Hayden focused on one branch! :)

For lunch Grammy and Hayden made lasgna. Hayden has taken an interest in whatever is being cooked. He really is a great helper.

I think Mom enjoyed it as well.

I received an email today saying that our legal paper work from Korea has arrived. They will be delivered to our house tomorrow. We have to sign a paper and send it all to Louisville's Home Land Security office. Once we receive approval from Louisville then we will be waiting on the travel call. The last two steps each take about two weeks. We don't have an offical travel date and won't but I think we will be traveling around the third week in January. If Hayden is lucky he could have a little sister by his third birthday.

I am getting excited about Addyson coming but we have so much to do. Over Christmas break we will have to paint her room. We did buy her a few clothes today, but I don't have any bows yet. :)

Saturday Afternoon

Yesterday, we took a day trip to Sebree. It was a nice family day.

Mom fixed an amazng lunch while Hayden dressed as Dad.

And rode on a reindeer that Aunt Kirha brought over. Hayden didn't know what to think about it at first but then seemed to really enjoy it.

Granddaddy, Cindy, and Jo came over after lunch to visit and decorate Mom and Dad's Christmas tree. It was a quiet and very nice way to spend Saturday.
