Weekend @ Abby’s

Friday after school I picked up the kids and we headed to see Mom.  The kids were so excited about spending the night.  Not too long after we arrived Adalee came over to play. 

Kaleb was a trooper.  He put up with Addyson while she pretended to be the doctor. 

She had to water him.  Not sure what was wrong with him to get that treatment but she thought it was hilarious!

Saturday morning started early for my crew.  Addyson woke up several times during the night and finally stayed up around 5 ish.  Hayden follower at 5:40. 

Addyson brought monkey along so that Abby would be able to fix his arm.  Mom took the opportunity to teach Addyson some on the basics of sewing.  Addyson helped fix it too. 

The highlight of the day was the cars.   Hayden and Addyson were driving them in the house like pros.  Adalee is still a little small for it so I drove her around some. 

Then we took them outside for a little bit.  It was rather cold so we didn’t stay long.  Aunt Kirha and Heather came over and Heather was a pro on them  She and Hayden were very brave and rode down the hill without trying to stop themselves.  Hayden would run off the driveway and flip into the yard. 

I went down the hill once but didn’t want to chance my luck.  I figured if I continued then my chances of breaking a bone would increase greatly with each trip.  Addyson took the safe way down by stopping herself every couple of seconds.  Mom stood by and watched and tried to catch anyone going too fast. 

 

The kids spent the afternoon watching movies.  Mom and I were busy in the kitchen.  We make three different meals that we could freeze and then use the next couple of weeks. 

We had a wonderful visit but had to come back Saturday night to get ready for church on Sunday!

Celebrating Addyson’s Gottcha Day

Can you believe that it has been three years since I traveled to South Korea to bring Addyson home?  I sure can’t.  In some ways it feels just like yesterday that she came home but in other ways it feels like she has always been with us!

We had planned on going to Paducah today to a pottery place that allows you to paint.  I didn’t realize it had closed.  So we quickly regrouped and headed to Crackle Barrel for lunch.  We were going to let Addyson pick out one of their cute dolls that they have.  They even have an asian doll.  Addyson didn’t want any part of those dolls.  She wanted a sock monkey.  She has carried it everywhere with her today!

Since we weren’t able to paint we weren’t sure what else we could do. We didn’t feel up to Chuck E Cheese  or any place like that so we headed to the park.  Yes it was cold, but hoods were up and if we kept moving you really didn’t notice the temperature.  I looked when we got back in the car it said it was 35 degrees. 

Everyone had a blast!  Addysons favorite was the merry go round and a huge swing.  An added benefit to it being colder was that we had the playground to ourselves until the end. 

We all had a good time.  I don’t remember the last time I went down so many slides and played so hard on a playground. 

Hayden wanted to climb to the top like his Daddy!!

After the park we took our weekly trip to Wal-mart and then home to play some more.  Tonight we have watched 101 Dalmatians and I believe Addyson has a new favorite movie. 

Catching Up!!

 

I haven’t been very good lately with getting my good camera out and taking pictures, but I have taken lots with my phone.  I am just now sitting down to get them off my phone. 

This is a picture of Addyson sitting in the dining room reading to her students.  I have a couple of videos of her acting like her teachers.  Her favorite saying right now is 1-2-3 eyes on me.  I know she must hear this a lot!

Addyson enjoys cuddling with Poppy.  She doesn’t sit still very long but when she wants to cuddle she squirms a lot. 

Addyson loves having her picture made!  Last week we had Mommy and me night at KY school.  We ate pizza and made her valentines day box.  I have to say that in our family Grant is the expert Valentines day box maker.  Unfortunately for Addyson on this night she was stuck with me and my lack of craftiness. 

 

On Super Bowl Sunday we headed over to Dede’s house to watch the big game.  We also got to enjoy Dede’s homemade pizza.  Addyson is learning all about how to make them.  Really I just think she enjoys helping because of all the food she gets to sneak. 

This plate is Hayden’s birthday gift from Abby.  The fork and spoon are like bulldozers.  He has to scoop the food onto his fork.  I pull this out now on nights when I know it is not his favorite food.  He tends to eat a little bit more since he is too busy playing with his food!

Okay…I think this about catches us up on the random things we have been up to lately.  I really need to get out my good camera more!!

Hayden’s Birthday

 

Hayden had a week long birthday celebration.  Hayden’s birthday party was at Ya Ya’s Island.  It is an indoor playground.  I didn’t get too many pictures of the kids while they were playing because they wouldn’t stay still long enough. 

All the kids seem to really like the cars.  Adalee seemed to really like the slides.  They were super fast.  Mom even went down one.

I know this isn’t a very clear picture of Kelby and I but I can’t really remember the last picture we had taken together. 

Hayden wanted a farming party and decided john deer would be the best!. 

Hayden had several friends from school come to help him celebrate!  These are his best buddies!  In the front is Blake, Ian, Jack, and Braden. 

The kids got to play two games after they ate pizza and cake.  They did the limbo and went on a treasure hunt!
