Halloween Weekend

Saturday was the Fall Festival at church.  It started around 3 and the kids got to jump in the inflatable for about an hour before getting to trunk or treat!  The Army man and Minnie Mouse were totally excited and had so much fun!

The kids were all smiles after getting lots of candy!

After trunk or treating we had a chili supper and a hayride.  Addyson and Lindsey enjoyed playing together. 

Addyson was on a candy high on the hay ride and was very hyper.  She wanted to sit in Blake’s lap (Lindsey’s Dad).

Sunday afternoon we went trick or treating to Grant’s side of the family.  With Halloween on Wednesday this year We wouldn’t be able to make it all the way out there so we decided to go a couple of days early. 

Pumpkin Carving

 

Last Tuesday night we took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather and went outside to carve pumpkins.  

The kids took the job of cleaning out the pumpkins seriously and did a fabulous job. 

They also wanted to help cut out the shapes so they helped me guide the knife some.  Then I figured out that they just wanted to punch the shapes out and they had a blast. 

This is Grant’s dragon pumpkin.  He worked so hard on it. 

Fall Break 2012

This week has flown by.  I can’t believe it is almost over.  We started our Fall Break by heading to Lowes.  Grant purchased wood and supplies for the new playset.  He found some plans online and decided we could follow the directions and put this thing together ourselves. 

The kids have been very patient.  They have loved going outside immediately after breakfast and not really coming in until supper.  Yes they were covered from head to toe every day in dirt.  The picture below of Addsyon is confirmation of that.  I truly do not know how she got on her face like that. 

This afternoon we finally put the slide on.  They were thrilled to go down.  Addyson has a fear of heights and wanted to go down but needed a little push from her brother. 

Grant and I sat down on the ground and just watched them play tonight knowing all of our hard work was worth it to see these smiles. 

Hayden is pretending to be scared as he went down on his stomach.  He wanted his picture taken. 

We are trying again to have  pet.  This is Lex.  A former student had a litter of cats they needed to get rid of so we took this one.  He is so cute and he loves the kids almost as much as they love him.  I hope he sticks around.
