New Friends!

 

School is starting soon and I wanted Hayden to already have a friend that is in his class.  My friend Jana works at school with me and her son, Reed, just happens to be in Hayden’s class as well.

Yesterday, we grabbed some lunch from McDonalds and met them at the park to play.  They hit it off!! Both boys love tractors and and such.  Today they came over to swim.  As you can see Addyson wants to be in the middle of their fun!  I really need to pay more attention to who her friends are at school and have them over. 

Reed has a little sister named Reece!  She is a doll, and Addyson did enjoy following her around.  I think Hayden is now ready for school, he has all his supplies and a new friend!

Last Few Days of Summer Vacation

We have been enjoying the last few days of summer vacation.  We have gone to the Tuesday Dollar Movie a couple of times this summer and really enjoyed it.  No one seems to care if he kids talk because kids pretty make up the audience.  Also, they have cheaper concessions which makes me happier!

We have also spent lots of time in the pool.  But to be honest, most days we are waiting until evenings to swim because of the heat.  Abby gave Hayden and Addyson these water balls.  They have really enjoyed them. 

Hayden got Addyson wet with one of the balls and she didn’t really appreciate it. 

But she waited awhile for her revenge.  He doesn’t look to pleased himself.  I don’t think he learned his lesson though.  

I can’t believe school will be starting soon.  Addyson starts back next Monday and Hayden will spend some time with Abby while I have meetings.  Then he will start Kindergarten on the 6th of August.  

Captured Memories

Last week I took the kids to Henderson to have their picture taken by Stacey at Captured Memories.  I have only seen these three pictures but they are amazing and I am totally in love with them. 

Addyson took getting her picture taken very seriously. She sat very still and for the most did exactly what she was asked.  Stacey at one point did ask for her to twirl and she wouldn’t.   

Hayden on the other hand was a little more difficult.  He had trouble giving her a real smile.  He was pretty excited to have his picture made with a few of his tractors. 

Hopefully, I will get to see the rest very soon.  I am really excited. 

Week In Review

 

We had a wonderful relaxing week around the house.  Grant had to work Monday and Tuesday but had off Wednesday and Thursday.  We spent Wednesday the 4th of July around the house swimming and hanging pictures on the wall.  Dede and Poppy came over for supper and then went with us to watch the fireworks.  We all had a wonderful time, but I didn’t really take any pictures. 

Thursday morning we ran some errands, like getting new driver’s license, taking things to goodwill, returning things to Lowe’s and even making a quick stop at Walmart (Addyson’s favorite place).  While we were there Grant picked out this.  

He thought it would be a wonderful family activity that the kids could participate in.  Well, Grant ended up crushing all the ice but the kids loved eating it.  Hayden loved the green apple and Addyson wanted the Cherry. 

 

We even had double piggy back rides.  I don’t think I will be able to do this much longer.  Not only are they getting heavier, but Addyson is holding on extremely tight these days. 

We saw clouds rolling in a couple of days ago and the kids were excited to go get their umbrellas.  As long as it wasn’t thundering or lightning I was going to let them play in it. 

It ended only sprinkling for about fifteen minutes but the kids had a blast.  Hayden wanted to keep his tractor dry while he played with them. 

They both wanted a drink so I told them they would have to catch it.  Hayden had a little more luck than Addyson.  She couldn’t quite get the hang of it. 

I’m not sure this week will be as exciting.  Grant has to work all week and I guess it is time that I start getting my classroom back in order.  We will probably spend a few morning at school and then the afternoon by the pool. 

Visit In Sebree

We went to Sebree a couple of weeks ago.  I forgot my camera so I used my phone.  It takes me awhile to remember to get the pictures off my phone. 

While we were there we visited with Uncle Kelby at this house.  He went swimming with the kids.  He let Hayden go down the slide and taught him how to do a cannon ball off the diving board. 

Neither kid had a bathing suit and it took some convincing that it would be okay to swim in their clothes.  Addyson’s float luckily covers her. 

We went to visit Uncle Kaleb as well.  He was working to clear a field.  Hayden caught a ride with Kaleb.  He acted all cool when he was on the bulldozer but I could see in his face that he was loving it. 

We also had a cookout at Heather’s neighbor’s house.  We toasted marshmallows and bananas stuffed with marshmallows and chocolate.  It was delicious. 

We also did visit with Abby and swim in her pool.  The kids had a wonderful time!
