Last Days of Summer!!

As we are nearling the end of my summer break the kids are becoming a little bored. The heat index is well over 100 so going outside for any length of time is impossible. So last week I decided to let the kids cook. We decided to make ice cream cone cupcakes. The kids assisted in every step.
I think they turned out pretty good, but didn't taste the best.

We have been in the pool a lot lately. The water has really warmed up so we tend to swim later in the evenings. The bonus to this is Grant joins us. Hayden is learning to swim without his floats. But his favorite part is Grant throwing him.

Addyson doesn't like being thrown or having water in her face. She enjoys floating on her back and being tickled.
Addyson suprising got into KY Kids preschool for this year. I had her on the waiting list to start next fall but they had an opening for this fall. The only real requirement is that she be potty trained. Well......She is not really potty trained but they are willing to work with her.
Hayden starts his second year or preschool at Farmington this year as well. He is excited about going back and learning all sorts of new things.

Play Date Fun

Yesterday morning Hayden's friend Jack came over to swim. Jack brought him Mommy, Melissa, and baby sister, Charli. We all had a wonderful morning.

The boys took turns jumping into the pool and squirting eachother with water guns.

Addyson just wanted to play with the boys, but she is still a little nervous about jumping off the side of the pool. Plus, they didn't want to play with a girl anyways. :)

Baby Charli stayed outside in the shade and watched the fun for awhile but then sat right inside the door where we could hear her.
After swimming the boys wanted to play on the swingset and play soccer. They played really well together.

Addyson's first photo shoot

I just love seeing Grant cuddling with the kids. He is such a good Daddy. Addyson has him wrapped around her little finger.
Believe it or not Hayden and Addyson really do love eachother, especially if no one else is around. I enjoy seeing them say good night to eachother every night. They will kiss and hug and say Goodnight. Addyson wants to be just like Hayden. Since Hayden had his shirt off she wanted hers off. I know we won't always be able to honor her requests but she just wants to be like him.

Friday morning, before Abby came to visit, Addyson wanted her pictures taken. She wanted to pose and then see how it looked.

I think she is so beautiful. She looks so much older than two in these pictures.

After a few pictures I had her try some different poses. She was willing to be silly just as long as she could see the picture right after I took it. She is such a ham.

4th of July Weekend

Yes, we had a fabulous 4th of July Weekend. You are going to live it backwards(just because I don't want to turn all the pictures around). We ended our weekend at Dede and Poppy's house for a cookout.
The kids were dressed in matching clothes and looked adorable, but I'm a little biased. :)

I had the camera all weekend and someone didn't like it.

So he took the camera away to take a picture of me. :) I was trying to be a good sport about it because Grant wasn't.

Here the kids are looking for worms under the brick sidewalk. I don't think they ever found any. Atleast I didn't hear any screams that would make me think they found any.
I was warm outside and I finally talked Addyson into letting me put her hair up. She decided she also needed my sunglasses.

Allison had to work so she came later. Hayden is surprising her with a water gun.

Grant wasn't the only one that didnt' like my camera. :) It must run in the family. :)

Addyson is giving Poppy a stick. Hayden and Addyson were trowing sticks into a mud puddle.

Kristie taught Addyson how to open this container and then they used it as a drum.

Hayden talked Anthony into going to see the corn again. I know that Hayden was already planning on riding on Anthony's shoulder on the way back. He is sneaky like that.

Saturday morning we went to the parade in Murray. Laken and Dede joined us in our usual spot.

Grant ran into Charles and enjoyed visiting.

One of Hayden's favorite parts of the parade besides the candy was the tractors. It felt like there were more tractors in the parade than anything else this year.

Addyson was very hot and sweaty. She liked sitting in Daddy's lap to eat her candy.

Someone threw us these cool glasses. Both Hayden and Addyson got a pair but Hayden has enjoyed wearing them the most.

Family Swimming

We have really been enjoying the pool this summer. The kids are learning so many new tricks.
Hayden enjoys jumping into the water. He doesn't want to be thrown but will jump off of any one or anything.

I can't believe I caught him in mid air.

I am starting to think she is going to be the cheer leader at the top of the pyrimid. She will lock her legs and let you carry her around the pool waving and saying hello to anyone that will listen.

Mesker Park Zoo

Last Wednesday Day I took the kids to the Mesker Park Zoo in Evansville with my Mom, Aunt Heather, Heather Ross, and Adalee. We had the best time.
Addyson and Hayden were super excited to see all the animals.

This was taken at the beginning of our morning. I wish we would have taken a picture before we left, because I bet we looked totally different. We were worn out and hot by the end of the morning.

I love that Heather and Adalee came along. Adalee is such a good baby and did so well with the heat.

Heather was such a big help to me. The kids wanted to play in the kid part but I couldn't have done it by myself. Heather helped Hayden while I practcally had to carry Addyson through it. Her shoes kept getting stuck in the wholes.

The sign at the top of the slid said no adults. Addyson really wanted to go down but wouldn't go without me. I didn't think I was going to fit for a minute. Addyson really enjoyed it.

After the zoo we headed to Gatti Town. It is a very cool place to eat. Hayden loved playing all the games and picking out a prize afterwards. I think we should do it again but maybe in the fall when it is cooler.
