Busy Busy Spring

We have been extremely busy the past couple of weeks.  We are at school and work during the week and on weekends we have t-ball practice and soccer games.  Most of the following pictures came off my phone since I don’t always carry around my big camera. 

Last Friday Addyson got to dress up like a pirate for school.  Hayden was kind enough to let her borrow his costume! 

Thursday night after Addyson’s school program Grant had a friend drop off a stray dog that had found it’s way to her house.  As soon as she left so did the dog.  Luckily we were able to find him about an hour later.  The kids went to bed that night upset not knowing if the dog was coming back or not. 

It is important to Addyson to know two things: how to wink and snap.  She has improved tremendously on both. 

As you can tell the kids are enjoying having a dog around the house.  Me on the other hand not so much.  I can’t wait until he is out of the puppy stage. 

Sunday was Mother’s Day.  After church we headed over to Dede’s house to cut down a dead tree for her.  The kids did a great job pitching in and helping carry limb to the pile.  When we finished we set one pile of limbs on fire and had hot dogs and smores!!

I accidently left these pictures off Hayden’s post about Kindergarten.  These pictures are from Field Day!  We play a version of Duck Duck Goose but instead we say Drip, Drip, Drench!  The kids love it!

Addyson End of the Year Program

 

Last Thursday night Addyson had her end of the year program.  She gladly posed for pictures before we left. 

This is one of her favorite poses.  It is pretty cute!

Last year Addyson was one of the youngest and didn’t want to walk in or perform, but this year was a totally different story.  She marched in singing and happy. 

I love the picture below because you can see how serious she took singing her songs and how uninterested the boys behind her are.  

A few facts about Addyson’s year in preschool:

• Addyson can now write her first and last name
• She can count to 30 (when she wants to)
• Journal writing is her least favorite subjects and playing in the bathroom may be her favorite subject
• She received the award for the Best All Around Girl in her class
• Her best buddies right now are: Mollie and Lillie

I’m so proud of how much Addyson has grown this year.  I can’t wait to see what she can do after one more year of preschool!

Hayden’s Year in Kindergarten

 

As the school year comes to a close, Hayden’s teacher has gone through her pictures and sent me several of Hayden.  He has had an amazing school year! 

This is Hayden on his field trip to LBL.  Unfortunately, it rained all day and they had to find alternate plans.  It still looks like they had fun though. 

I have never seen 50 kids so excited about Easter egg hunting as I did this day.  They couldn’t wait to get started. 

This is one of Hayden’s best buddies Braden. 

A few facts from Hayden’s first year in school:

• He finished 10 sets of FRY words
• Started school only counting to 30 and now can count well past 100
• Is now reading on a first grade level
• His favorite subject is PE
• Right now his best buddies are Braden, Ivan, and Reed

 

Hayden’s a pretty normal kid.  If you ask him what his favorite part of school is he will say recess.

This was Hayden’s first day at school!  I can’t believe how much he has changed and grown this year!  He is ready for summer but doesn’t really want school to end.  He likes being with his friends and learning.
