Crazy Hair

Do I really need to say anything about this picture. Truthfully, he isn't as happy as he appears. It is amazing the things you find when you are cleaning the garage. This is a wig I wore a couple of years ago when we were celebrating test scores at school. I count myself lucky that we don't have a picture of that. :)

Simply Adorable

I just think he is simply adorable.

Isn't this just so cute. I asked him to turn around and smile and he turned around and put his finger up his noes. :)

The True Story of Gottcha Day

Okay so this is the true story of Gottcha Day. You all think that Hayden is this sweet happy child. Well, I hate to inform you that is not always true.

Here Grant wanted to put Hayden in the hippo's mouth. Hayden had other ideas.

Yesterday you saw a picture of Hayden walking happily around the goats. Truthfully, Hayden didn't really want anything to do with the goats. He was happy throwing rocks and mulch.

Grant is making me post this picture (I hate it). All I wanted here was a nice picture of Hayden and I by the elephants. Hayden just wanted down to see the elephants. I bet you can guess who won this argument. :)

Daddy thought that he could make Hayden laugh and forget how tired and hungry he was. As you can see Daddy didn't win this one either.

Truthfully, we had a wonderful day. For the most part Hayden was happy and really enjoyed himself. We just thought it was funny how many times during the day we caught him crying.

We are so glad Hayden is home and apart of our family. I can't imagine my life without him.

Gottcha Day

For our first Gottcha Day we went to the St. Louis Zoo. We drove up last night and went swimming in the hotel pool. It was a lot of fun. We arrived at the zoo as soon as it was opening.

The petting zoo is free for the first hour of the day, so that is where we went first. This is a picture of Hayden petting a guine pig. He wasn't sure about it at first but then really enjoyed petting them all.

Doesn't Hayden make a cute otter?

Hayden didn't mind running around with the goats, but he didn't want to pet them.

When hayden and I went to the zoo in Nolfolk Hayden and I had a picture like this taken. Now we have one with Daddy too. Doesn't Hayden look so happy.

We were excited to show Hayden the fish and the big hippo in the water together until we found out what the fish were eating. I guess the nice way to say this is the fish were eating the hippo's dung. Yuck!

Hayden is giving a big hug to his new elephant. Grant and Hayden make great elephant sounds.

This orangtuan is 45 years old. He looks so friendly.

I loved the penguin exhibit. I couldn't believe how fast they could swim.

Now is this a zebra or a horse? We had a hard time deciding. :)

This is Hayden enjoying his lunch, whales. After spending $6.00 on a drink and knowing that food was so expensive in the zoo we wanted to wait until we left the park to eat lunch. The whales helped tied Hayden over. Doesn't Hayden look so tired.

This picture was taken about one minute after we left the zoo. Hayden had so much fun.

Check back tomorrow for the True Story of Gottcha Day!

A Year Ago Today

A year ago today Hayden was placed in our arms forever. It has been a wonderful year. It doesn't seem right that we should be celebrating this milestone yet. Here are a few pictures from our pick-up trip.

This one was taken in Antiqua when we were touring the country.

This has always been one of my favorites.

This stroller made a wonderful make shift high chair.

My favorite part of the trip was coming home. I am so glad our family is complete.

Stories to remember

This has been a very good week for Hayden stories. First, early Sunday morning, Grant was watching Hayden while I was getting ready for church. Grant came into our room with this in his hand.

I wasn't sure why he had a candy wrapper in his hand. Apparently Hayden found his way into the side table drawer and opened and ate this piece of candy without Grant seeing it. He is beconing very smart!! Grant just says he has my sweet tooth.

Monday when I went to pick Hayden from the babysitters she said that he and another little girl woke up early and began playing with toys. This is a big no no at this daycare. So the next day he wore the shirt below that says Naps are the Enemy.
Then yesterday at work Ms. Cindy called me and told me that Hayden had bit another little boy. He bit the boy on the face and left a mark. He had his first time out at the babysitters. Ms. Cindy said he was very upset. What a week at the babysitters!

Today was the first day that Hayden would keep a hat on. Isn't he cute! He is eating a chocolate chip cookie.

Happy Grandparent's Day

Hayden would like to wish Dede, Poppy, Grammy, and GG a very happy Grandparent's Day. He loves you all so much!!!

Hayden was just so cute in the bath last night. When you say "cheese" he will give you such a big smile. The bad part is when you tell him to smile he blinks.

This is a picture of Grant, Allison, and Anthony on the roof of Dede and Poppy's house after they raised the antenna. This was a very hard job for everyone involved.

We talked Poppy into getting in the picture with his boys.

Grant and I were trying to keep Hayden from climbing the ladder to the roof of the house. He wanted to be just like the big boys.

Quiet and Relaxing Weekend

Life is so busy when school is in session. Especaially now when I am taking two graduate classes. This long weekend has been a wonderful break allowing me to catch up on things. I graded papers, wrote lesson plans, worked on my homework, and even found time to play with Hayden and Grant.
Lately, whenever I try to take a picture of Hayden he runs up to the camera and smiles. He then immediately wants to see the picture.

Grant was going through his sock drawer a couple of nights ago. Hayden was throwing socks everywhere, so I decided to make sock puppets. Hayden had one on both arms. He really liked it until he decided he wanted to take on off, and couldn't really use his hands to pull the socks.
