Bye Bye Daddy and more

Every morning as Grant leaves to go to work Hayden sits on the front steps. He waves and yells Bye Bye Daddy at the top of his lungs. I am sure the neighbors hate us but it is so sweet I can't stop him. He waits until Grant has gone down the road before he comes in to eat breakfast.

How could you tell this face no. He loves his Daddy.

Lately, Hayden really likes going to get the mail. It seems everyday we receive junk mail so I will give it to Hayden. Today the junk mail had return address labels in it. He on his own put one on his foot.

Tonight we were all outside on the deck playing. It was so cool because it was about to rain. Grant was in a silly mood as usual.

He grabbed the camera from me and took my picture

Hayden was his usual self playing dinosaur.

Every time we would hear thunder Hayden would say Oh No!

Weekend at the Tapp's

While Grant and I went to Memphis to celebrate our anniversary Hayden spent the weekend with my parents. This was the first time Hayden had spent time with them without Grant or I there. By looking at the pictures that Mom took he had a lot of fun.

I don't think Hayden wanted to spend the time changing clothes before getting into the pool.

Home Sweet Home

I found some pictures this afternoon while Hayden was taking a nap that I forgot to post. I took these pictures sometime last week when it was to hot to go outside.

The tent is the home to these vehicles. Hayden would run the vehicles all over the room and then park them in the tent. He would then announce that they were home.

Hayden is trying to see the TV probably, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse his favorite show.

A quick recap of what we have been doing this week. Allison let us borrow her truck on Monday to put railroad ties and mulch around Hayden's playground. When we finished that we went to Murray to swim and then grabbed some wonderful hamburgers and milkshakes. Tuesday we hung around the house and played outside. Wednesday Grant and I went to Holiday World with some friends from church and Hayden spent the day with Dede. Tomorrow Grant and I are headed to Memphis for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Hayden will be going to spend the weekend in Sebree. :)

Father's Day

This is the kind of day we are having.

We woke up this morning and made Daddy pancakes and gave him his card. We then headed to Sebree. We were already on the interestate before I realized that I forgot the dish I was suppose to bring for lunch. If we turn around we would be late for church. I turn around anyway. I drove like crazy and we made it to church. With close to two hours in the car I didn't really think Hayden would behave in church. I was right. He couldn't sit still or be quiet. He also threw a couple of fits at lunch.

There were some glimpses of the sweet face below like when he saw GG and Grammy and his two uncles.

We are going to pretend tomorrow is like Father's Day and try to get a good picture of my two favorite boys. The little boy wouldn't cooperate and the big boy didn't approve of any of the pictures I took.

Hot Hot Day

It is a very hot day today. It is also the first day of Grant's vacation. We ran to walmart early this morning to pick up some food for the Father's Day dinner that we are hosting tonight at my house. When we got home we went outside and played in the water. We had a lot of fun!!!

I think that tomorrow we are going to go to Venture River and then possibly swimming again on Saturday. For Father's Day we will head to Grammy's and GG's for dinner and a little fun. Hayden has a way of always getting a tractor ride when he is there too.

The Pool is Cool

This week is so busy. It is Vacation Bible School week. Hayden is having a blast singing songs and making crafts. Grant had the day off yesterday so we ran to Paducah to pick up some Father's day gifts. We ate lunch at Chuck E Cheese. Grant and I both decided that it will be a long time and a special occasion before we go back. It was expensive and the pizza wasn't good. Hayden did have a good time. Grant truly starts his vacation on Thursday so we have a few things planned.

We recently borrowed a truck to go pick up Hayden a plastic pool. He is really enjoying it. Hayden loves his squirt bottle almost as much as his pool.

He struggled to decide which to play with.

This past Saturday we went to Murray Park to play with Alexandria Hayden's second cousin. We grilled some burgers and had a wonderful visit.

It was very hot but Hayden didn't seem to notice. He played really hard. He loved the bridge and throwing sticks over the edge.

Future Farmer

Hayden is quickly becoming obsessed with tractors. He carries one with him about everywhere we go. He will point them out everywhere along our daily route, and loves riding in them any chance he can get. I can't help but ask myself if he is going to be a farmer when he grows up.

As I type this Hayden is eating his snack of teddy grahams. He called me over with a worried look on his face. He didn't want to eat the bear. He rubbed it and ask to put it night night. After reassuring him that it was okay to eat him he laughed and shoved several in his mouth.

Fun in the sun

Monday, Hayden and I headed to Sebree for the day. My mom loves to spoil Hayden and had a surprise for us when we arrived. She bought him a very cool pool. We can't have a pool like this at our house due to the dog popping it.

This is Hayden as he first looking at the pool. The water was so cold but he didn't even notice.

Mom gave him some cups to play with.

Hayden would fill these cups up and then come and dump them on Mom, Heather, or myself. Luckly for us most of the water would fall out of the cup before it hit us. One time though he asked permission to get Heather wet. Of course I said yes and as he proceeded to throw the water on her most of it came back and hit me.
Here he is getting mom wet.

Heather was smart and fought back.

Mom taught him to go down the slide.

He never would really slide down. He would get to the top and jump down the slide. I was lucky enough to catch him in midair.

All of Daddy's hard work.....

DESTROYED!! I captured this picture right before Hayden knocked over Gran'ts tower. You can see in his eyes that he is asking for permission to knock it down.
Hayden and I went to Grammy and GG's house yesterday. We had a blast and took lots of pictures. I need to go through them and find the good ones. I will post them soon.

isolated showers

What a wonderful day we have had today!! We stared the morning at Cracker Barrel for breakfast (I had a gift certificate from Teacher appreciation week). Then we headed out to Crossland to visit Granny Orr and then Dede and Poppy. We grilled out and had some amazing hamburgers. Around two we headed home because a certain little boy needed a nap. While he was taking a nap Grant and I headed out to the garage. We cleaned it up and put many things up in the attic. Once Hayden woke up Grant mowed the lawn while Hayden and I played on the deck. We didn't know that there were isolated showers in Hayden's forecast. :)

Grant was watering our plants and Hayden kept asking for more. I happily grabed my camera to keep me safe and dry.

I have so many favorite pictures from today but this is at the top of the list.

Hayden couldn't figure out how it worked. I don't think it will be long before he figures it out and gets Grant back.

We are headed out for a walk now that we have all finished a light supper. I LOVE SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning @ Home

Hayden and I spend our first day of summer inside this morning because of the rain. We did have a lot of fun though. This morning was the first time Hayden has taken a lot of interest in building something with Lego's. Below is his first creation.

We also read a ton of books.

We even worked several puzzles. I left one on the floor while I was making his lunch and he was really working hard to figure it out.

I did put his boy boy underwear on him this morning. He didn't have any accidents. :)

Good Trucks, Bad Bus

Hayden was wearing an oversized t-shirt around the house last night. He decided he wanted pants but I didn't want to get another pair dirty. He decided to put his legs in his shirt and walk like a duck.

Hayden was telling his school bus to stop. I really didn't think anything about it until Grant pointed out the other toys on the other side of the room.

This is the school bus all by itself.

This must be the good trucks and tractors. After he talked to the school bus he went and played nicely with these trucks and tractors. I just love his imagination!
