Easter Weekend 2012

 

We have had a very busy weekend!  Friday after school we drove to Abby’s house to play and spend the night.  Saturday morning we me up with Audra and Hadley to go to Disney on Ice.  The kids loved every minute of it.  Hadley and Addyson matched outfits! 

They got to see all their favorite characters. 

 

 

The kids wanted a light up toy so bad before the show but they cost an outrageous amount.  We waited until we left and found a guy on the street selling some for cheap.  Audra and I knew that they were cheap but better than spending around sixty-five dollars inside. 

When we got back we packed up and headed to the park for the Tapp Easter Egg Hunt.  We at pizza and cupcakes and then played a few games. 

Adalee didn’t want to play the games.  She just wanted to swing and slide on the playground.   See didn’t have any interest in finding eggs either.  I suspect that may change by next year.   

This morning the kids were dressed in the Easter outfits for church.  They look so grown up. 

We got the tripod out this morning and took a family photo.  I should do this more often!

Easter Parties

Thursday both kids had Easter parties at school.  Hayden’s class was super excited. 

They all lined up on the railroad ties and waited for someone to yell go.  Once they did Hayden was hard to keep up with!

Addyson’s class on the other hand was just a little more quiet.  They were all lined up along the fence but the eggs were everywhere including outside the fenced area.  So I caught Addyson’s attention and while her friends found the eggs in the playground, she came outside the fence and found eggs all by herself. 

Both kids seemed to have a blast!

Creation Museum

 

Last Friday we loaded the church bus with the Acree and Rudd families and headed to Cincinnati to visit the creation museum.  It was a long trip to the hotel.  After a few hours of sleep we were up and heading to the museum.  At least the kids look awake and ready.  

I think you can tell how Addyson felt about the first part of the museum.  It had a lot of reading and it took awhile to get through. 

The kids perked up when we visited the garden of Eden.  All the plants and animals were so beautiful.

They asked us to look scared for the second picture.  I guess Addyson is just a little braver than the rest of us!

Family Time

 

Most of these pictures are from this weekend.  I had Friday off from school because the high school boy’s basketball team was playing in the state tournament.  We took advantage of the pretty day and went to eat lunch with Grant.  We then played outside the remainder of the day. 

This picture of Grant and Addyson was taken before church this morning.  Addyson is wearing one of her new spring outfits and wanted her picture taken with her Daddy. 

Both kids have had Wacky Wednesday at school lately.  Addyson was more than willing to dress wacky.  She has her shirt inside out and on backwards, her pants do not match and are on backwards.  She couldn’t go without her tutu.  Hayden on the other hand didn’t want to dress wacky but wanted a Mohawk. 

Both kids were wacky Friday afternoon.  I got the inflatable out for them to jump in.  They were thrilled!  They honestly do play pretty well together most of the time. 

They both  wanted their picture taken and would run to see what they looked like jumping!  When they got done I actually folded the inflatable up and fit it in the bag that it came in.  I was impressed I could do that.

Saturday Grant, the kids, and Poppy went to a farm machinery auction in Mayfield.  After naps we headed outside to play a little soccer with Hayden and try to teach him how to ride his bike.  He just about has it but gets scared and stops himself.  Later that night we headed over to Jeff and Tana’s house for dinner with friends.  We had a lot of fun!
