Banking Graduate

Three years and many hours working on papers later Grant graduated with honors from Baretts Banking School in Memphis TN. Last Friday, Debbie, the kids, and I drove to Memphis to watch Grant graduate. It was a gorgeous day outside.

The kids were super excited to see Grant. They had missed their Dad so much. Every night before bed Hayden would ask me, "Would you please leave the door open a lot just like Dad does?" And Addyson just didn't understand where Daddy was every morning. She was so used to cuddling with him.

Grant did graduate with honors. He looks so handsome and serious up on stage.

I am so proud of him and how hard he worked to accomplish this!!

Outdoor Fun

The weather outside has been gorgeous. I can't seem to help taking lots of pictures of the kids while the play on the swingset. They just smile so big and laugh so much.

Hayden's new thing to do while he swings is to sing "Missed me! Missed me! Now you have to kiss me." And he expects me to stop his midswing for him to kiss me. I'm not going to tell him is should be the other way around. :)

The boy is super flexible. He loves climbing up the slide. Addyson gets frustrated because she can't always do it like her big brother.

This is the face she makes when you ask her to show you her happy face. I'm not really sure where she gets it from (Hayden I think) but it is still super cute.

Addyson is into everything. She especially likes my camera. She doesn't always want her picture taken (that's another post entirely) but she loves to play like she is taking pictures. Here she is getting up close and personal with my camera. You gotta love her.

Visitors and Cotton Balls

It seems everytime Grant goes away my computer know and won't let me work. I am lucky though that Grant always returns and fixes whatever I have done to it. Last Sunday, Grant left for his last week at banking school in Memphis. My Mom, Heather, and Adalee came down to keep me company for the afternoon.

Addyson and Hayden just love Adalee and enjoy playing with her so much.

It's also a good excuse to dress the two girls alike. After a quick lunch we drove to Paducah to check out the new store Charming Charlie. Mom and Heather had been in one before in Virginia and were super excited. I admit after going inI loved looking around and fell in love with it as well.

With Grant being gone and me being excited about the first days of summer vacation, I had to find a way to keep the kids entertained. Cotton balls wouldn't be my first choice, but you wouldn't believe how long they kepts the kids busy.

Yes, they did end up making a huge mess on the carpet but for the couple of hours of the two of them playing together, it was well worth the time spent cleaning up. It wasn't until Grant got home and found some behind a chair did I realize I still had more cleaning up to do. :)

More pictures of our week without Grant coming soon.

Soccer and Allergies

We have found out that Addyson is really allergic to bug bites. You can see on her cheek the bug that bit her Friday night. Saturday afternoon when she woke up from her nap that whole side of her face was swollen. Even benadryl wasn't helpping much.

Earlier Saturday she was happily playing at Hayden's soccer game. She really wished she could play as well.

Hayden finished the season very strong. He was behaving and playing very well. He he is going to a goal this morning. I just wish it was in our goal. All season the team has pretty much practiced going to a certain goal. Today we were not lucky enough to have that as our goal.

Hayden recieved a pretty cool trophy for playing soccer this season.

I am very proud that he played this year and will sign him up to play again this fall.

Preschool Graduation

Last week Hayden had his Preschool Celebration. For several students in his class this is their graduation and will be moving to kindergraden. Hayden is lucky enough to have another year in preschool.

Here Mrs. Penny is handing Hayden his certificate. Hayden love Mrs. Penny. She is so good with kids. She is just amazing. Mrs. Penny taught the kids a song with sign language. It was pretty neat to watch Hayden sing in front of a crowd.

Hayden loves Ms. Amy as well. Hayden has had a wonderful year in preschool and has grown and learned so much this year.

I am lucky enough to have a job that allows me to be at all of his programs. Grant was able to come as well.

Even Dede was able to come and celebrate with Hayden!

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day Sunday!! My kids are so good to me. They bought me a beautiful concrete bench for the front yard.

We even went and got a picture of the three of us together on it. Wish I had a tripod so we could have taken a family portrait. Not that Gratn would have agreed to it. :)

We met my family at Patti's late Sunday afternoon. Addyson was sure glad to see her Uncles. We were able to play at the playground for a little while before our reservations.

Baby Adalee was there in a very cute outfit. She is getting so big! Addyson and Hayden love seeing her and "petting" her.

We were also able to meet Hadley. She is a precious little girl and is just a month younger than Addyson. I hope we get to play with her many more time.

Field Trip

Last week Hayden has a field trip to Murray. Grant and I both couldn't miss work that day so Abby said she would love to go with Hayden.

They went to Orscheln Farm and Home Store and to Murray State to watch a movie. The highlight of the trip had to be seeing the baby chicks.

After school that day, I talked Mom in to staying for a little while. She went with us to a Preschool family activity. The kids were able to pet several different types of animals and ride in a train. Addyson wanted me to ride with her. :)

I promise we did have a good time even if Hayden does look unhappy! :)

Happy Birthday Grant!

Yesterday was Grant's 31st birthday! We started our day with a soccer game. Hayden didn't really want to play so it wasn't his best game, to say it nicely.
We came home and grilled for all the family.

We talked them into helping us with putting the siding on the storag building.

Debby and Christie were relaxing and overseeing things.

After Hayden and Addyson's nap Dede helped Addyson drive the lawn mower. Here she was asking Dede if she wanted to sit on her lap and ride with her. :)

Layken and Jamie were inside playing Guitar Hero and throwing Hayden on his bed!

Hayden did show off his skills riding his bike. He wanted to make sure I got a picture of him.
