Winter Wonderland

I was not sure this winter would ever end.  I believe we have missed the first week of school of every month so far this year.  This last snow storm was the biggest by far. 

Even the bank was closed for a day.  Grant got out to play with the kids but was quickly distracted when he realized how hard it was going to be to get his car out of the garage. 

This was the most snow/sleet the kids had ever played in and they really enjoyed it.

 

Hayden and Addyson wanted to help us get our vehicles out but really just wanted to play with the shovels.  Under all the snow was ice which was almost impossible to break up.  The kids and I were in the house from Sunday to Wednesday. 

We did make snow cream when we went inside.  The kids thought it was so cool and weird at the same time. 

This was the road on Wednesday when I decided to get out.  As you could see I probably should have stayed home but I was going crazy in the house. 

Grant got stuck in the drive-way after someone plowed our road.  They left big chunks of snow that Gran’ts little car couldn’t get over.  Addyson and I worked getting the driveway clear and ready for him to come home the next day. 

We went out again on Thursday for Addyson to get a hair cut.  She wanted it as short as Hayden’s but we compromised with this length.  She looks so grown up!

These are some of the pictures from the past week from my phone.  Addyson enjoys going to cub scouts because for at least for an hour she has our undivided attention.  This past week we practiced writing her numbers. 

At school this past week we had Kentucky week.  On the last day we got to dress up with our favorite Kentucky college.  He was proud to match me.  Really don’t think this will last much longer. 

One week snow and ice the next week we have 70s.  Hayden loved being able to play outside and take his shirt off. 

Addyson love playing outside as well.  She wanted to learn how to ride her bike like Hayden.  While it didn’t go so well she is one determined little girl and I know she will catch on soon. 

Grant put air in the tires of the bike and rode around.  I forgot how fun it was to ride bikes.  I did notice later that Addyson had fallen off her bike.  She was fine.

Later that night Hayden and Addyson went to KY Kids after dark.  aka Parents night out.  We took advantage of this opportunity and went out to eat without the kids. 

The kids had a blast and were worn out.  Hayden was asleep before we even got home.
