Discovery America Museum

Earlier in November Mom and Adalee came to visit and we went to Union City to see their new museum.  It was crazy how the line was long all day long to get in, but once you were inside it never seemed to be overly crowded. 

We spent a lot of time in the kids section.  They had a toddler area that Adalee really enjoyed. She went fishing and caught a fish.  They also had some awesome play dough like stuff.  It looked like sand but was you could easily mold it. 

Hayden and Addyson really enjoyed the kids area.  Here they were making clouds.  They were also playing with water and experimenting with different waterways. 

There was a big slide the kids wanted to go down.  I went down first to catch the kids. 

 

They had a small aquarium.  The kids could crawl in to get an up close look at the fish.  Addyson and Adalee didn’t want to come out.  

We went outside and saw most everything before the kids were to exhausted.  They found a whole barn of tractors.  They wanted their picture made in front of this combine. 

I told the kids if they whined anymore I would leave them in there. Addyson didn’t seem to worried. 

Halloween 2013

Last Saturday at church they had a fall festival with kid games, jumpers, and hayrides.  The kids had looked forward to it all wee. 

I think the kids enjoyed giving out candy more than they did getting it!   the kids are still considered in the young group they went around first and then handed out to the older kids. 

Grant dressed up as the great and powerful Oz.  I wish I had a picture of the rest of the people at the bank that dressed up with him.  They all looked really good. 

We took this picture before going to school  Hayden got to wear his costume to school, but ended up taking it off before breakfast because of how difficult it was to go to the bathroom.  

I was lucky to get to go the Hayden’s party because my classroom party was right before his.  He wanted to get his picture taken with his friend Owen. 

At Addyson’s school Hayden helped me out and passed out candy to all of her friends.  I was suppose to stay with Addyson. 

We didn’t do much trick-or-treating this year because of the weather but we hit the most important houses.  The first house we went to was Granny’s.  We were lucky to run into Jase aka Scooby Doo. 

We finished out night out with visiting Dede and Poppy’s house and the Kilgore’s. 

Halloween from my phone

We all had fun this Halloween dressing up.  Grant was the Wizard from the Wizard of Oz.  Doesn’t he look handsome!

It is always hard for me to find a school appropriate costume.  But this year I did it.  I found a pack of nerds costume.  I added the glasses as a last minute touch.  All out Nerd!  Hayden wanted to pretend he was eating me.  Nerds are one of his favorite candies. 

After both school parties we came home.  I think this is Addyson’s favorite holiday.  She LOVES candy!

Hayden didn’t even want to go trick-or-treating.  He was just too tired.  This is how he fell asleep in the car on the way to visit family.  Notice the chicken that never made it into his mouth.  Poor Darth Vader!

Fishing @ Allison’s

For Dede’s birthday we went to Allison’s house to celebrate.  We spent the first part of our visit fishing in the catfish pond.  Hayden couldn’t have been more excited. 

Sweet Lilly got to ride in the stroller pushed by Addyson with some assistance. 

This is Hayden’s first catch.  It wasn’t his biggest of the afternoon but he was super excited.  No one really wanted to be the one to help him get it off the line. 

Addyson took it pretty serious after Hayden caught one.  She didn’t want to be outdone by her brother.  Unfortunately her bobber was too deep and the fish kept eating her bait.  We finally let her borrow Hayden’s pole and she caught one. 

This is how she reacted when she got it out of the water.  She was very afraid of it.  

This is where Addyson feels the most comfortable; playing with the dogs. 

 

Later that evening I caught these three in Lilly’s room reading books.  Addyson told Dede that she didn’t need any help with the words and if she missed a few that it would be okay.  

Addyson I sure full of spunk!!

I forget to get the pictures off my camera.  I want to post these before I get to the Halloween pictures.  I love that I found this picture Grant took of himself!

This is Addyson and her friend Lindsey before dance class.  She has dance class every Friday at 4:45.  The only thing Hayden likes about it is that we usually end up going out to eat afterwards.  

This particular Friday we drove to Paducah.  It was about 6:15 and I thought we would have to wait for a table at Texas Roadhouse but we were able to pretty much walk right in. 

We had fun taking pictures while we waited for our food!  We got some very yummy cheese fries while we waited!!  Addyson pretty much ate all the ranch. 

The last two soccer games of the season were really cold.  Addyson and I cuddled the best we could to stay warm. 

This was right before Addyson’s game.  I changed her into a slightly lighter jacket in hopes that she would be able to run around on the field.  We let all the girls play at the same time so that they wouldn’t have to sit on the bench and get cold. 

 

This is Hayden’s team after their last game.  They remained undefeated all season!
